Eligibility Requirements

As a professional organization, specific Program Operating Guidelines are necessary to ensure the greatest access to our programs to as many artists as possible.

There shall be a limit of one solo exhibition for every five years, per artist, in the main Open Studio Gallery, with the following exceptions: when an artist is subsequently selected as a Nick Novak Scholarship recipient; when an artist is subsequently selected as a Visiting Artist.

Participants in group shows (of two or more artists), will be limited to a solo or another group exhibition once every three years, in the main Open Studio Gallery with the following exceptions: when an artist is subsequently selected as a Nick Novak recipient; when an artist is subsequently selected as a Visiting Artist.

Artists selected as a Nick Novak Scholarship recipient or as a Visiting Artist shall wait five years to exhibit in another solo exhibition in the main Open Studio Gallery, and shall wait at least three years to exhibit in a group exhibition.

Scholarship recipients must wait at least 3 years to apply for another scholarship or for the Visiting Artist program.

Board Members will not be eligible to apply for an exhibition in the main Open Studio Gallery. They are eligible to exhibit in the George Gilmour Gallery and to apply for the Nick Novak Scholarship.
