**west/central Portfolio Review -- Wednesday,
Oct. 24, 2001, 7 - 9 p.m
Announcing west/central a portfolio review by artists Leesa Streifler and
Patrick Traer at Open Studio, Wednesday, October 24, 7 - 9 p.m. Visual
artists working in any media are invited to bring finished works, or
works-in-progress, to this forum for the input and exchange of critical
viewpoints relating to each individual's creative process within the
context of contemporary visual art culture. Hosted by two well-recognized
artists from Western Canada, west/central will address aesthetic concerns
rather than technical.
Both Leesa Streifler and Patrick Traer are Saskachewan-based artists
participating in Open Studio's Visiting Artist Residency Program. Through
this program, non-print media artists are introduced to various printmaking
techniques with the assistance of masterprinters while print-based artists
are encouraged to explore new and innovative approaches.

**100 Prints -- Wednesday, May 15, 2002
This is one of Toronto's most successful arts fundraising events. 100 Prints are donated to the event by nationally and internationally recognized Canadian artists. 100 tickets are sold for the event, assuring each ticket holder an original fine art print. Tickets are drawn in random order on the evening of the event. As each ticket is drawn, its holder has two minutes to choose a print. The element of chance makes the event grow in excitement as the evening progresses. Part of the success of this event also depends on the numerous and generous donations of food, prizes, artwork and framing.
