Rebecca Cowan
Excerpt from artist statement

I wanted to slow down my process and work in a more thoughtful way, and to appreciate the things that made me fall in love with printmaking: drawing details, creating textures, feeling the creaminess and hearing the smacking sound of ink being mixed, wiping slowly and gently to reveal the markings on the plate, overlaying transparent colours until they reach a kind of visceral density, and finally unveiling the image itself. And so, I made these prints in a meditative way – without thought to outcome, just enjoying each moment of the process, being amazed, delighted and made breathless by the results –letting go, and going beyond.
