Excerpt from artist statement:
"The genesis of the series of prints, Shipwreck Dreaming, began with
photographing coniferous trees wrapped in burlap for winter protection on a bleak, blustery winter day.Within days, I also discovered an
illustration of a shipwreck on an Archaic Greek vase. This image had been flattened out to facilitate a reproduction of the whole three-dimensional image and the formality of the fan shape this produced was the immediate attraction. With the alchemy of
chance, the brooding sense of mystery and loss which they both exhibited fused these two disparate images and were the catalyst for the production of this long term series of print works."
