Excerpt from artist statement:
"These observations have translated into my prints as I have continued to work with each new drawing as another page in my personal journal. My writings, scratches, scribbles and drawings are signs and symbols
coming from and representing me, physically and emotionally. They are self portraits made by drawing my reflection in mylar, tracing the contours of my body parts, or printing my hand, foot, lips, hair, body with recurring symbolic attributes such as
ribs, spine and hair. The spontaneous, expressive way the drawings are executed is meant to capture a feeling or emotion at a particular time - ideally as uninhibited as a journal or spray painted graffiti in an alley, fresh and subconscious,
deliberately contrasting with the slow, careful and laborious processes of printmaking. ..."
