"...My work explores the multiple planes of surface and the superficial, in which decorative motifs and various modes of embellishment express hidden layers of belonging and exclusion, cultural assimilation and recuperation.Pattern and repetition become the language through which different voices are woven together or resist each other.My intent is to reveal the subtle distortions that are inherent to the mnemonic process and its recovery..."
