Andrea Cooper 

Andrea Cooper is an international media artist with a Masters of Visual Studies from the University of Toronto. Her video Strange Things premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and won the Images Festival (Toronto) National Film Board of Canada Award for best emerging artist in 2007. Strange Things was recently included in the exhibition Mimetism at Extra City in Antwerp, Belgium in January 2008. Her visual and media art has been shown in galleries cross Canada, and her videos have been screened in the US, Germany and Spain. She has also curated exhibitions and writes about art. Cooper currently sits on the programming committee of the experimental video collective Pleasure Dome. A St. John's native, she currently lives in Toronto where she works as a Senior Public Relations Consultant for Strategic Objectives. Her gallery work experience includes having worked at Eastern Edge Gallery, The Resource Centre for the Arts Gallery and as Director of the Pouch Cove Foundation. She has also worked at CBC as a Communications Consultant as well as the St. John's International Women's Film Festival.
